I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
