Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets struck energy facilities, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.
